A.L.A.R.M. plays a loud siren if A/C adapter is removed
Imagine sitting in front of your laptop in an unprotected area (university, library, at work) and you have to leave it unattended for a short period of time. That’s where A.L.A.R.M. comes into play.

It will sit silently in your system tray until you lock your workstation. If now somebody removes the A/C power connection to steal your laptop, A.L.A.R.M. will play a loud sound from your Laptop speakers until power is back again or you have unlocked your workstation.

This is not the best theft protection, but better than nothing. And maybe you’re just around the corner or even in the same room, having your eyes on something else.

Purge confidential Security Related Security for Windows

Purge allows to permamently erase the files from your computer.
Purge is a program that will allow you to delete files from your computer the way, it won’t be possible to recover them using any file recovering software or even by giving your harddrive to the professional company that specialize in data recovering Standard “Delete” method provided to you by the operating system, don’t really destroy the data on your hardrive, it merely removes filename from directory list, and marks space occupied by your file as free. Entire content of the file is still there and can be easily recovered!

Why do you need Purge? If you keep on your computer files containing confidential data and you want to be sure that no one will be able to recover them, once you decided to delete them, then you need Purge.

Purge allows you to permamently erase these files from your hardrive, by overwriting their’s content with random data, sector by sector. You can use Purge to destroy and erase content of any confidential files or directories on your drive including text documents, pictures, movies, sound files, pdf documents, or files in any format.

Purge uses custom pseudorandom number generator with enormous period and large seed value. Overwriting file with random, chaotic data, which cannot be reconstructed, is critical, since some of the specialistic companies or goverment agiencies are capabe to revover files that have been simply erased (ie overwritten with constant value – most likely 0), using specialistic hardware.

Purge package consist of two files: Purge.exe and Purge.dll. Purge.exe is for console usage and allows you to purge single file or recursively entire directory.

It also support wildcards for erasing multiple files/directories. Purge.dll is a Windows shell extension that integrates itself with Windows Explorer allowing you to Purge your files as easily as deleteing them is. Simply select files/directories in Windows Explorer you want to permamently erase, right click and choose “Purge” menu item, which is just below Delete item.

MD5 Pack Security Related Security for Windows

Utilities to make and verify md5 signature files from Explorer’s context menu.
MD5 signatures are 32 hex digit strings derived from (binary) files by a highly specific algorithm. Files that differ only slightly have completely different signatures. Also, it is really extremely unlikely that two different files have the same signatures.

MD5 signatures can therefore be useful to verify the integrity of files e.g. after copying. The two utilities presented here enable you to make and check signatures in an easily and quickly.

This pack includes MD5Maker and MD5Verify so that you can also create a signature file, not only check its integrity.

The MD5Maker can be started from the Explorer’s context menu when you right-click on a selection. MD5 signatures of ALL the files in this selection – including the files in its directories and subdirectories – are calculated and stored in the MD5 Signature File.

The MD5Verify program has the MD5 extension associated to the program. This makes starting the program possible by double-clicking on an MD5 Signature File. All signatures are checked against the corresponding files.

DelinvFile Secure cleaning Security for Windows

A Windows program designed to delete files with invalid names
Delete invalid Files or DelinvFile is an utility that you can use to delete data files and folders that you are not able to erase using the standard Windows Delete function.

DelinvFile provides a convenient User Interface for selecting the file or folder that you need to delete and provides for a choice of two delete methods. You use the standard controls for Drives, Folders and Files to navigate to the Folder or file to be deleted.

Note that Filenames are displayed in both forms – Short FileName and Long Filename as a convenience for the user.

Once an item has been highlighted and selected, you can click the Delete buttons to try to delete it. Note that you may be able to delete with one method but not the other. Try both if necessary. If neither of the delete operations succeed, you have a more involved problem than DelinvFile was designed to handle.

Recent versions include options that require registration. These include Rename File, Rename Folder, “Delete File at Boot”, “Delete Folder at Boot” and an ‘Open With..” function for allowing you to open your choice of program to view a selected file.

Limitations:

· The original functions for Deleting Files and Deleting Folders may be used without registering DelinvFile. Although this may change in a future version, there is no time limitation for this in this version.
