Advanced ZIP Password Recovery Decrypting Decoding Security for Windows

Advanced ZIP Password Recovery – recovers lost passwords for ZIP/PKZip/WinZip archives
Advanced ZIP Password Recovery is a program to recover lost or forgotten passwords to ZIP archives (compressed files) created in programs like WinZip, PKZip etc.

Advanced ZIP Password Recovery is a great program for forgetful people.

Here are some key features of “Advanced ZIP Password Recovery”:

· The program has a convenient user interface
· The program is very fast: brute-force attack speed is up to fifteen million passwords per second on modern CPUs like Pentium 4 (Prescott)
· Very fast and effective known plaintext attack is available
· The program can work with archives containing only one encrypted file
· Self-extracting archives are supported
· The program is customizable: you can set the password length (or length range), the character set to be used to generate the passwords, and a lot of other options
· You can select the custom character set for brute-force attack (non-English characters are supported)
· Dictionary-based attack is available
· The “brute-force with mask” attack is available
· No special virtual memory requirements
· You can interrupt the program at any time, and resume from the same point later
· The program can work in the background, using the CPU only when it is in idle state

Limitations:

· When the files in the archive are stored (without compression, only with encryption), the performance might be lower than expected (especially on large files), because decrypting the whole file is required (unless you know the first few bytes of the encrypted file).
· If the archive contains two or more encrypted files, the program assumes that all of them are encrypted with the same password (see Files with different passwords topic for a workaround).
· The program does not support ZIP archives that use dclimplode compression method (available in PKWARE Date Compression Library)
· The program does not support ZIP archives that use PPMd and bzip2 compression methods (available in WinZip 10.0 beta).
· The program does not support Strong Encryption Specification (EFS) (available in PKZip 5 and above) and Advanced Encryption Technology (used in WinZip 9.0 and 10.0).
· In the trial vresion passwords longer than 5 characters cannot be recovered
· In the trial vresion some dictionary attack options are disabled
· In the trial vresion, in ZIP known-plaintext attack, the decryption keys are not shown, and only the first file from an archive can be decrypted; the attack cannot be resumed.
