An application that saves text documents in an encrypted form
Secrets-Editor is an easy-to-use, small and simple editor which saves text documents in an encrypted form (passphrase encryption with SHA-1 and AES).
The Secrets-Editor provides common functionality like copy ‘n’ paste, undo/redo, drag ‘n’ drop, and a search tool.
When you save a new file for the first time (or when you save an existing file as a new file), you have to specify a so called passphrase (something similar to a password, but a sentence instead of a single word — so people, who don’t remember character combinations, can use a ‘secret sentence’ instead); this passphrase will then be used for authentification when you open the file again.
